The mission of the Canadian Association of Zoo and Wildlife Veterinarians is to promote and contribute to the health management of free ranging and captive wild animals, and in so doing enhance the well being of these animals.

This mission is achieved through the following goals:

1. Communication - encourage and facilitate communication within and between professions; thereby linking veterinary medicine, wildlife management, and public/government agencies.

2. Education - provide information as well as continuing education for veterinarians and other wildlife health professionals.

3. Professional Representation - act as a unified resource in the promotion of the art and science of free ranging and captive wild animal health management.
